Dive into our engaging virtual professional development (VPD) micro-credentials that are tailored to deliver targeted strategies to empower administrators, school leaders, and teachers to enhance and turnaround schools. Accessible anytime, anywhere, our modules discuss best practices and provide opportunities to enhance your leadership abilities and drive positive change within your school community. These micro-credentials are developed by the Texas A&M Educational Leadership Research Center (ELRC), with funding provided through a grant from Education Innovation and Research (EIR), the U.S. Department of Education.
Module 1: Leadership Coaching Module
- Discover the definition of leadership coaching and the best practices associated with it.
- Examine the challenges of implementing leadership coaching and how to address them.
- Explore the expectations of leadership coaching.
2: A Personal Coach for a Leader Module
- Explain the differences between supervision, mentoring, and coaching.
- Understand how coaching can support principals.
- Describe the benefits of coaching the principal can have for staff and students.
3: Leadership Team Coach Module
- Understand the role of a leadership team coach.
- Identify what skills a leadership team coach should have to be a successful coach.
- Learn how leadership team coaching differs from individual coaching.
4: A Coach for the Principal
- Develop an understanding of the benefits of leadership coaching.
- Describe and provide examples of student benefits when an administrator has a coach.
- Connect learning to real-life practice.
This is a four module micro-credential that awards a certificate worth four continuing professional development units/hours (CPUs) upon completion.
