Dive into our engaging virtual professional development (VPD) micro-credentials that are tailored to deliver targeted strategies to empower administrators, school leaders, and teachers to enhance and turnaround schools. Accessible anytime, anywhere, our modules discuss best practices and provide opportunities to enhance your leadership abilities and drive positive change within your school community.  These micro-credentials are developed by the Texas A&M Educational Leadership Research Center (ELRC), with funding provided through a grant from Education Innovation and Research (EIR), the U.S. Department of Education.

Module 1: Characteristics of Great Schools

  • Identify characteristics of effective schools.
  • Apply leadership practices that influence student learning.

Module 2: Leading in a Post-Pandemic World

  • Identify the phases of school transformation.
  • Recognize the impact of school transformation activities on marginalized children.

Module 3: Leading with Influence

  • Define leading with influence and its applications in a school setting.
  • Understand the purpose and importance of leading with influence.
  • Recognize how leading with influence can impact school culture and student academic achievement. 
  • Identify key strategies for leading with influence. 
  • Examine the significance of leading with influence within developing a school’s mission, vision, and goals.

Module 4: Differences between a Manager and a Leader

  • Differentiate between leading and managing.
  • Articulate the differences between leadership and management.
  • Identify the skills necessary for leadership development.

This four-module micro-credential awards a certificate worth four continuing professional development units/hours (CPUs) upon completion.
