Dive into our engaging virtual professional development (VPD) micro-credentials that are tailored to deliver targeted strategies to empower administrators, school leaders, and teachers to enhance and turnaround schools. Accessible anytime, anywhere, our modules discuss best practices and provide opportunities to enhance your leadership abilities and drive positive change within your school community. These micro-credentials are developed by the Texas A&M Educational Leadership Research Center (ELRC), with funding provided through a grant from Education Innovation and Research (EIR), the U.S. Department of Education.
Module 1: How to Give and Receive Feedback and Criticism
- Understand the importance of feedback and constructive criticism.
- Recognize "stressors" and effective ways to deliver feedback and constructive criticism.
- Learn how to receive feedback and constructive criticism productively to inspire professional growth.
Module 2: How to Conduct the Post-Observation Conference with Teachers
- Identify post-observation conferences and how they fit into the teacher evaluation process.
- Explain the importance of post-observations and how they support teacher professional development and student achievement.
- Examine effective strategies for conducting post-observation conferences with teachers.
Module 3: Observing and Monitoring Teacher Growth
- Learn the importance of collecting and providing specific feedback.
- Identify ways to improve teachers' instructional practices.
- Understand barriers to quality observation and feedback as well as some potential solutions.
Module 4: Effective Feedback for Teacher Efficacy
- Examine key factors that influence teacher efficacy during the evaluation process.
- Develop an understanding of the importance of providing effective feedback for developing teachers.
- Explore additional feedback strategies to foster instructional growth in teachers and academic success in students.
This is a four-module micro-credential that awards a certificate worth four continuing professional development units/hours (CPUs) upon completion.
